HydtekTV Player Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the TV Player app for iPhone and iPad ("the app") handles and why. The app is made by Hydtek ("we", "us"). If you have questions, email support@hydtek.ca.
The short version
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your playlists, and any logins for them, stay on your device. We never receive them.
- The app doesn't provide any channels or content. It plays what your own provider supplies.
- We use Google services for anonymous usage statistics, app settings and ads. We never send them the channels, titles or playlists you use.
Information that stays on your device
Playlists and logins. When you add a playlist, its link (or Xtream Codes server and username) is saved in the app's storage on your device. Passwords are kept in the iOS Keychain. None of this is sent to us.
Cached channels and guides. Channel lists, movie and series catalogs and TV guide data from your provider are saved on your device so the app opens quickly. They are refreshed from your provider on the schedule you choose in Settings.
Your provider. The app connects directly to the playlist provider you add, to load channels, guides and streams. That provider receives your requests (including your IP address) under its own terms and privacy policy. We don't control providers and aren't responsible for them.
Information collected by services we use
Google Firebase Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how many people use the app and which features they use. It collects:
- app opens, sessions and time spent in the app;
- the type of a few actions, such as "playlist added (M3U / Xtream / file)", "playback started (live / movie / episode)", "mini player used" and "guide grid opened". We do not record which channel, title, category, playlist link or login is involved;
- device model, iOS version, app version, language and approximate location (country or region, derived from your IP address);
- a random app-instance identifier created for your installation of the app.
We have configured Firebase Analytics not to collect your device's advertising identifier. Analytics data is not used to identify you and is kept for a limited period (no longer than 14 months).
Google Firebase Remote Config
The app downloads settings from Firebase Remote Config, for example whether an update is required or how often ads appear. This uses the same app-instance identifier.
Google AdMob advertising
The app is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect your device's IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, and an advertising identifier.
- Tracking permission. iOS asks whether you allow tracking. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier (IDFA) is not shared and ads are less personalized.
- Consent. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and certain US states), the app shows Google's consent message before personalized ads are served.

Your choices
- Privacy Choices: in the app, open the menu, then Settings, then Privacy Choices to review or change your ad consent.
- Tracking: change tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Delete your data: in the app, Settings → Delete All Data removes every playlist, login and cached channel, guide and catalog from your device. Deleting the app does the same.
- Requests: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its use. Because we don't hold information that identifies you, we can usually only help by pointing you to the controls above, but email us and we'll do what we can.
Children
The app isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Where information is processed
Google may process the information described above in Canada, the United States and other countries where it operates.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
